Located in beautiful Chester County approximately 10 minutes from Rte. 1 is EQUIGEN, LLC. EQUIGEN, LLC offers the unique service of standing MRI for horses. Similar to “open MRI” centers that are available for people, EQUIGEN, LLC allows for horses to receive all the benefits of an MRI without the extra risk and expense of general anesthesia. Horses with their handlers arrive at their appointed time, receive some tranquilizer (usually Dormosedan®) and approximately 2 hours later they are ready to return home. In addition to offering the only standing MRI in the southeastern Pennsylvania region, EQUIGEN, LLC and Dr. Kent also provide a high level of equine sports medicine including but not limited to pre-purchase evaluations, thorough lameness work-ups and acupuncture. Dr. Kent completed her acupuncture training in 2003 at the Chi Institute of Chineses Medicine in Reddick, FL. Dr. Kent provides additional services for her clients by her presence at most of the major three day events on the eastern seabord. Dr. Kent has attended every Rolex CCI**** and Fair Hill CCI*** since 2001 as a private treating veterinarian. As pre-purchase evaluations are an integral service provided by EQUIGEN, LLC in addition to providing this service locally, Dr. Kent will travel out of state and out of the country if necessary.
